- FREE Tier: Basic vehicle information provided at no cost
- SILVER Tier: Enhanced vehicle history report available for £2.00
- GOLD Tier: Comprehensive vehicle history report available for £5.00
- Bundle: Pre-purchased credits for multiple vehicle checks
- Damage Photos: Photographic evidence of previous vehicle damage, available for £0.50 per vehicle
3. Service Description
3.1 What We Provide
CarHPI.com provides vehicle history information based on data obtained from third-party sources including:
- DVLA (Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency)
- MOT History Database
- Police National Computer (PNC)
- Motor Insurance Anti-Fraud and Theft Register (MIAFTR)
- Finance and leasing companies
- Insurance industry records
3.2 Service Tiers
FREE Tier includes:
- Basic vehicle details (make, model, year, colour, fuel type)
- Stolen vehicle check
- Tax and emissions information
SILVER Tier (£2.00) includes:
- All FREE tier information
- Complete MOT history with mileage records
- Insurance write-off status and category
- Basic mileage verification
- Downloadable PDF report
GOLD Tier (£5.00) includes:
- All SILVER tier information
- Outstanding finance check
- Previous keeper information
- Plate change history
- Comprehensive mileage verification
- Full vehicle history timeline
- Enhanced PDF report
Damage Photos (£0.50 per vehicle) includes:
- Access to available damage photographs
- Download capability with watermark
3.3 Bundle Packages
Pre-purchased bundles of checks are available at discounted rates. Bundle credits:
- Are non-refundable once purchased
- Must be used within 12 months of purchase
- Cannot be transferred to another user
- Are automatically applied to future checks
4. Account Registration
4.1 Account Creation
To access certain features, you may need to create an account by providing:
- A valid email address
- A secure password
- Optional: name and contact details
4.2 Account Security
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
- All activities that occur under your account
- Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized use
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
5. Payment Terms
5.1 Pricing
All prices are displayed in British Pounds (GBP) and include VAT where applicable. Prices are subject to change without notice, but changes will not affect orders already placed.
5.2 Payment Processing
Payments are processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your complete card details. By providing payment information, you represent that:
- You are authorized to use the payment method
- The information provided is accurate and current
- You will pay all charges incurred
5.3 Transaction Fees
The displayed price is the final amount charged. There are no hidden fees. Standard payment processing fees are included in the stated price.
5.4 Failed Payments
If payment fails:
- You will not receive access to the requested information
- You may attempt payment again
- Repeated failed payment attempts may result in temporary account suspension
6. Digital Products and No Refund Policy
6.1 Nature of Digital Products
All vehicle history reports and damage photos are digital products delivered instantly upon successful payment. Once you receive access to the information, the transaction is complete.
6.2 No Refunds
All sales are final. We do not offer refunds for:
- Completed vehicle checks (FREE, SILVER, or GOLD)
- Damage photo purchases
- Bundle packages
- Any digital products once accessed
This policy exists because:
- Information is delivered instantly and cannot be “returned”
- You have received the complete product upon viewing the results
- The data has been retrieved from third-party sources at cost to us
6.3 Exceptions
Refunds may be issued solely at our discretion in exceptional circumstances:
- Technical failure preventing delivery of the report
- Duplicate accidental purchases made within 5 minutes
- Clear error on our part in data presentation
To request consideration for a refund exception, contact us at support@carhpi.com within 24 hours of purchase with your transaction ID and detailed explanation.
6.4 Free Preview
We offer a FREE tier check so you can evaluate the type of information provided before making a purchase decision. Use this option to assess whether our paid services meet your needs.
7. Data Accuracy and Limitations
7.1 Third-Party Data
All information provided is sourced from third-party databases and official records. While we strive to ensure accuracy, we do not guarantee that:
- All information is current or complete
- Data from third parties is error-free
- All historical events have been recorded
7.2 Limitations of Information
Our reports may not include:
- Unreported accidents or damage
- Private sales history
- Service and maintenance records
- Modifications or aftermarket changes
- Insurance claims not resulting in write-offs
- Information from outside the UK
7.3 Professional Inspection Recommended

8. Liability and Disclaimers

8.2 Limitation of Liability

- Any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:

- Download PDF reports for the vehicles you have checked
- Print reports for your own records
You may NOT:
- Reproduce, distribute, or resell our reports
- Remove watermarks from damage photos
- Use our Service for commercial purposes without written permission
- Scrape, copy, or mirror any content from our Website
- Reverse engineer any aspect of our Service
10. Prohibited Uses
You agree NOT to use the Service to:
- Check vehicles you do not have a legitimate interest in
- Violate any laws or regulations
- Harass, abuse, or harm others
- Transmit viruses or malicious code
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
- Interfere with the proper functioning of the Service
- Conduct commercial operations without authorization
- Use automated bots or scrapers
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Collect personal information about other users
Violation of these prohibitions may result in immediate account termination and potential legal action.

21. Special Provisions
21.1 Bundle Credits
- Bundle credits expire 12 months from purchase date
- Expired credits cannot be refunded or reinstated
- Credits are applied automatically, oldest first
- Credits are non-transferable between accounts
21.2 Damage Photos
- Photos are provided “as available” from third-party sources
- Not all damaged vehicles will have photos
- Photos may not show all damage
- Photos are watermarked and for your personal use only
21.3 API Credit Management
We maintain API credits with data providers. In rare circumstances where our credits are depleted:
- GOLD and SILVER checks may be temporarily unavailable
- FREE checks will continue to operate
- You will be notified of service interruptions
- No refunds will be issued for temporary unavailability
21.4 Future Service Integration
These Terms will apply to future related services including SpareCarPart.com when launched. Additional terms specific to that platform will be provided separately.
